Frigid temperatures, two days off from work and a woodburner... hmmm what might one do?
Reeeeeeeead, read, read, read, read reeeeeead its all I do ....  Anyway we also set up our G4 Mac
and the kids are enjoying the Mac and the 16" Sony monitor.  Giant and capable of causing older
children to experience nausea.  At the present time I am working through a class in finance.  It is enjoyable
and challenging.  I beat my one year deadline by 18 days.  Thanks for the challenge Drew.

A cord of three strands is better than one...

Well... the paper was completed thanks to an editor, parents and a very supportive family.  Class was fun... we did the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator Test in class.  I find it amazing how closely these descriptions match the people.

This morning was going quite nicely until our dog Baylee had another seizure!  She was frothing at the mouth and the kids thought that she had drank from the toilet-that would be enough for me to have a seizure.  Anyway... thinking only of the toilet, I told Sylvia to put the dog outside and had the boys wipe the floor in the bathroom, which actually didn't have anything on it to begin with.  When I came upstairs from my shower and checked on the dog outside, I noticed that she was behaving strangely and assisted her inside.  She was doing fine by the time we left for school.

In conclusion, we are  glad  that it is Friday and will enjoy a night eating out and buying something at Steve and Barry's or at least that's the plan.  One day at a time...and looking forward to my  silver cord returning!

What's a home without its heart?

Beth made it to Florida safe and tan (the secret is in the can) and we made it through our first evening of homework.  The kids were very alert and prepared to complete their homework.  My parents had picked up the kids from school because I had a staff meeting and dinner was nearly ready when I arrived home.  After assisting with homework for a large portion of the evening ( I was reminded how much my dear wife does while I read books about leadership-how ironic) I was able to retreat to my room to work on a paper that is due Thursday.  My mom and dad have offered to take care of another meal tonight so that I will have some additional time to work on the paper.  I am truly blessed (and spoiled) by my family.

As I worked on my paper through the evening I continued to add wood to the fire yet I was still cold... What is a home without its heart? I miss you!           ksh

Well it is Sunday January 1 and we had a relaxing afternoon and early evening.  My Grandmother is not doing well and was taken to Shadyside Hospital for evaluation.  She is ninety-two years old.  As a young man I remember her calling my name when she and my Grandfather would visit..."Kennody".  Her hands were always busy and she rarely stoodstill when they lived with my parents in New Jersey.

Currently Reading
Desiring God
By John Piper

The abrupt alarm at 7:00 am drove me downstairs to let the dog out , start a  fire  and read.  I am reading the highly acclaimed Desiring God Meditations of a Christian Hedonist by John Piper.  Extremely thought provoking!  As my family awoke I was able to greet each one individually and talk about the joys of visiting their cousins and plans for the day ahead.  I am hoping to contact my college buddy Mark so our families can get together sometime during the remaining days of the week.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time visiting with family yesterday and enjoyed watching our niece Hannah play basketball.  The break is going by quickly and there is still so much to accomplish.
